SHANE
For an all too brief 24 hours, we were able to take Shane into a home environment for further assessment ... And how very glad we did!!!
He is now back in pound kennels but we now have invaluable information to help us find his forever home
Shane has spent many months in pound kennels now and yesterday we managed to place him in a dog free home to find out a little more ...
What a lovely dog he is -
- He is a big boy (he stands around 26/27" TTS)
- He is loving and affectionate
- He is not house trained since he has been in kennels for months and unable to get out to pee/poo - so some work to do here!
- He is strong but very trainable
- He does, of course, have prey drive but again is very willing to learn
- He is NOT cat friendly / small furry friendly
- He does not have an ounce of malice - just a natural instinct to do what he was bred to do
Shane is young, boisterous and a big lad and having spent so long confined to a kennel he can get very over excited but this will settle VERY quickly once he is able to exercise and has an outlet for his needs.
He was dog 'friendly' but currently so full on that any resident companion needs to be able to tolerate a full on and 'rude' companion so may be better as an only dog at this time.
PLEASE consider helping this boy - we have limited time to find him a suitable foster.
He needs space to free run, Large secure garden?
He needs someone around a lot in the early days to work with him, allow him to decompress and settle into a new life.
