Aswell as our 'success stories' sometimes we have extra-special wins and this page is here to celebrate those!

oUR LATEST (5TH) 'BIG WIN' IS....

A DOUBLE-WIN..Meet fabulous adopter Helen, with her pups - Pixie and Leo!

Helen is a Worthing based dog-walker who has an absolute passion for her four-legged friends!

She had her 2 furry best friends in Patch and Bonnie, and she sadly lost them both over recent years.

After some healing time she turned up one day to collect and then foster Pixie (Collie) - anyone who knew Helen knew she would be a 'failed-fosterer' within no time and this turned out to be the case!

Pixie has been with Helen for over a year now and has landed on her paws - as well as dog-centred life...with more fury-friends than she could ever wish for..Helen is also a keen camper-van adventurer and festival goer so Pixie is living a life of fun, friends and adventures!

Then in 2025 a box of abandoned puppies arrived at Arundawn - one of which was mighty-little Leo (JRT X Chi we think) - Helen again offered to kindly help out and foster this little bundle of joy but recently she has announced that another adoption form has been completed and now Pixie officially has a little brother!

Helen is one of the good people - and she also helps out when she can with collections or fund-raising for Arundawn too.

She may be doubly-lucky to have both these gorgeous pups but they are most certainly doubly-lucky to have her as their fur-Mum!

Our FOURTH 'big win' is...

...Lovely Lily!

Awesome adopters Mollie & Charlie shared this heart-warming story: -

'A few of you may remember our Arundawn dog, Lily (formerly Frida), from appeals made by Arundawn last year particularly around Christmas time, to find her a home after her fosterer was unfortunately no longer able to look after her. She had been with her fosterer for 15 months at the time, since she was 6 months old.

Lily is our second deaf rescue, but we quickly realised she was also visually impaired and a vet confirmed at least 5 congenital defects as a result of being double merle bred.
We've adapted the visual cues we have for our little Pickle so that she can see (most) of them and she is flourishing!

We were under no illusion about her challenging behaviours - whilst she loves people and dogs; her issues were more around high drive, excitability, lack of boundaries, separation-anxiety, reactivity to slow moving cars, mouthing and jumping up, lead ragging etc.
And I'm so pleased to say she has made a lot of improvement over the last year. I'm hoping to get her into man-trailing or something similar next year as this girl really loves to work!

Here's to our first gotcha day anniversary and to many more with our little pink Piglet, as she continues to build confidence and following in her older, wiser brother's pawprints. I can't wait for what adventures await us next.

Thank you so much to Arundawn and Lily's foster family for giving Lily a second chance in life!'

Our THIRD 'big win' is...

...Crocker the Beagle-Springer cross!

Crockers 'pawrents' have shared their wonderful story...

...'In 2021, we approached Arundawn about a cheeky looking chap. We had gone backwards and forwards trying to decide whether he might be right for us due to the mix of Beagle and Springer! Thank goodness we did because he has completely changed our lives for the better!
To begin with, he had no idea what a toy was or how to play with other dogs.
After three years, he now has a large group of play friends and adores a good run around with a ball. It has been so beautiful to see him develop.
He has not been without his medical issues - but no matter what comes his way, Crocker takes everything in his stride.
He has recently accompanied us on our elopement wedding and definitely stole the show, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
We weren't prepared for the love he would bring to our home, and it would never have happened if it wasn't for the Arundawn team - we can never thank you enough for saving our lad!'.

Our second 'big win' is...

...Tilly the Jack Russell Terrier!

As anyone who has ever had a JRT will tell you these adorable, magical, wonderful dogs are also a real handful!

They are just brimming with energy and can take more time & work than some of the larger breeds - meaning people sometimes can underestimate the level of care and time that they will require. Due to this you will quite often find JRTs either in need of rescue or as strays - and it takes special people to give these dogs the right home.

For Matilda (Tilly) these people were the wonderful Ron and Barbara, pictured below...

...Tilly was a stray at just over 9 years old - so not always the easiest age for a re-home.
She came to us at Arundawn at the end of October this year and and Ron & Barbara offered to foster her - however, they fell head of heels in love with her in a few days and she was officially adopted 10 days later!

As you can see in the photos below she is now living her best life and is getting all the love she deserves with her forever family!

NOVEMBER 2024...

...Our first 'big win' for this initial month of sharing in this format is Forest!

(Was Griffin/Pippin)

The gorgeous dog was brought to our attention on 12th October -  He had suffered a nasty break to his elbow joint several weeks before that and this has been left untreated and had 'healed' totally incorrectly leaving the joint fused and unusable.
It must have been excruciatingly painful for this wonderful boy whilst 'healing'! We just knew we had to help!

So - Arundawn stepped in and, after seeking
veterinary advice and due to his age, growth plate development etc. found that his only option was to have the leg removed (amputated) (as rebreaking & setting at that stage was not an option).

The surgery was estimated at £1227, with discounts applied because of using 'our' amazing regular vets practise, and our fabulous supporters and community stepped in with kind donations that meant we were able to go ahead and book this surgery for October 23rd.

Forest stayed with a wonderful foster family for us whilst he recovered from the surgery, and got slowly used to life as a tripod dog...

...and then we were delighted to be able to report that by only 3rd November - he was adopted & went off to his forever family!

Forest now has several canine pals and we have had reports of him enjoying lots of mini excursions & adventures heading out from his new home!

A big THANK YOU to Harriet and James for fostering him so beautifully - and to his forever family for adopting him.

Here's some photos of this boys journey - none of which would have been possible without our wonderful supporters, followers, and the entire #Arundawncommunity.
