LILY

Yorkie Lily is rising 8 years old and has been left suffering since 2019 with bladder stones. Missed vets appointments, in pain all that time, and incontinent as a result of utter neglect, this dear little dog arrived with us, extremely underweight, dehydrated and frightened. Her coat, nails and skin were in a mess - soaked in stale urine, her coat matted and faeces around her back end and overgrown nails.

Thankfully she was cared for by Lisa and the girls at Keepers Kennels in their private area whilst getting strong enough for surgery to remove the bladder stones (see photos below).

Lily went to see the vet on 29th April and our vet Julian felt she needed the surgery urgently so managed to operate that afternoon. Huge thanks to them. Our vet was shocked at the size of these stones - they weighed 90 grams and Lily weighs just 4kg! We hope she will make a good recovery, though it is likely that her bladder is permanently damaged so there may be some incontinence.

Lily has a foster home where she can have around the clock supervision. Massive thanks to Keepers Kennels and our vets for their help so far.

This sweet girl is now in a local foster home to fully assess her. Updates to follow.
