KODA
Koda arrived exactly 4 months ago today! He went straight to foster with a hopeful forever home at the end of it but sadly this has not worked out ... his foster mum has had a lot of changes to her life in those months and Koda has struggled to settle.
He has exhibited some separation anxiety which will need time and patience.
However - he arrived back with us just yesterday morning and as I felt that kennelling would be extremely detrimental I brought him indoors with the 'big' pack!
Apart from a few scent marking incidents in the first hour or two - he has been exemplary. No chewing, no accidents, no destruction of any sort.
BUT he does have the company of my Deerhounds (young and old), grumpy lurchers and disabled bull terrier!
He has been walking on his own today for a good hour plus and Lucy says he was fantastic and a darling.
I really feel strongly that he needs to find a home who has a lot of time to give to help with his needs ... being DUMPED in pound kennels at just 5 months old can be so very damaging and an understanding of those needs is essential.
He really does need a calm companion or two for company and to build a relationship with UNLESS his human is prepared to stick with him throughout while he learns to accept short times alone.
He is going to make the most amazing, loving and loyal companion given time.
