Yet another dog who needed time and training due to his past history and lack of care and understanding. His fosterers have been fabulous but are now feeling they cannot help him further and he needs to find his forever home as soon as possible.
Ziggy arrived with us as an abuse case in October & after cruciate ligament surgery, went into foster. Zippy has a high prey drive towards cats & some small dogs (particularly Cockapoo types) & needs to wear a muzzle when walking off lead. He has mixed well with other lurchers & terrier types after very slow & careful introductions & enjoys playing with them.
Ziggy had extreme separation anxiety when he first arrived, but as soon as another female lurcher joined his foster home, his anxiety completely disappeared. So we are definitely looking for a family with at least one other female dog - preferably another lurcher.
Ziggy loves being groomed & will entertain himself for hours with a squeaky toy & is equally happy to have a game of 'fetch'. He is affectionate, loves the car & travels well. He loves water and splashing around in lakes and rivers. He is also great with horses and comes out with his foster with her horse and cart, trotting easily around 10 miles in an outing. He understands Come/Here,Leave,Wait,No as well as his name.
Ziggy is going to need a lurcher experienced home with a large garden in a rural location with an active couple or single person who enjoys long walks and/or bike rides, with no children (could live with calm teenagers).
