Dear old Usher was abandoned by his owners in their back yard and didn't return for him. He subsequently was picked up by one of Arundawn's partners before being transferred to us.
Usher is currently awaiting proper veterinary assessment as he has a number of subcutaneous lumps but doesn't seem to be in any discomfort. He has Nasal Planum (depigmentation on his nose) with some crusting but seems to be ok.
He has been living with his foster mum for a while and she cannot say enough about this boy. They have been doing daily walks along the beachfront and he ignores joggers and other people. He is starting to perk up whenever he sees another dog and has indicated that he would love to play. He adores his ball and will on occasion bring it back.
He has visited another house where the resident dog barked at him and he didn't react. He also met the cat who hissed at him but he seemed completely unbothered by either. The cat managed to whack his nose at one point when he stuck it too close but he just waited for the cat to remove its paw and did nothing else.
Basically, Usher is just a cracking all round dog and it is astounding that he was abandoned.
He's good in the house and sleeps all night. Everyone who has met him has loved him and we think that he would be a fabulous addition to any family. We are looking to rehome him with older children mainly due to the fact he's getting on in years and would prefer a calmer and less frenetic household, but he has been around younger kids visiting and been fine with them.
