Toffee was transferred to Arundawn after spending months in kennels due to a dispute of ownership. Thankfully this was resolved and the police released her for rehoming.

Toffee is a young and playful lurcher. She loves to follow you around the house and to observe everything you do. She is very energetic and needs lots of exercise and mental stimulation. She is very smart and picks things up quickly. Toffee has learnt to walk nicely on the lead and to sit and wait for her food, and to wait wherever she is even when you walk out of that room with the door open. Toffee loves to run and she will need to do this within a safe and enclosed area because her prey drive doesn’t allow her to be let off lead in open spaces at the moment (especially when rabbits and squirrels are about!).

She loves to play chase with other dogs whatever their size as long as they are happy to run around endlessly. In the evening, after her dinner, Toffee loves to play with an old sock until she is allowed on the sofa, where she will initially lie very close to you to then wiggle very ungracefully her way off the sofa, land on the floor and keep sleeping!

All in all, Toffee is an uncomplicated, sweet and intelligent lurcher who just wants love, cuddles, food and the company of an other dog to zoom around.

Toffee is still not fully housetrained so she needs someone around most of the time to help her with this. She would do well in a calm home with another dog for company. She would blossom in a home with clear boundaries and routine.

Please remember these dogs are bred to do a job! And as a sighthound mix she loves nothing more than to run.

Lead exercise is simply not enough nor garden play. Secure fields nearby are often a great option for additional free time.
