SCARLET

Update:

Scarli (as she likes to be called) is nearly 7 yrs old and arrived showing a great deal of anxiety. Her previous owner had been leaving her alone at weekends and she simply had not (no surprises here) not coped.

She has been in foster for us with a lovely couple whose own dog went to stay with a family member in order to give Scarlet a chance and get us an assessment.

This dog is delightful! But she really needs to find her forever home and someone who will continue to work with her anxiety at being left again ...

Her fosterer says: 'She’s 100% house trained, no accidents inside at all. Her walking on the lead can be strong but after the first couple of minutes she settles and walks perfectly. She walks well, greets all dogs outside with friendly body language, she will however bark if someone tries to suddenly approach her (a man tried to say hello a while ago and she cowered and barked) but you could tell she wants to say hello, just being cautious. I had a girls night on Friday and she loved the company, didn’t seem at all nervous to have 5 girls being loud in the house. She’s nervous when Jamie leaves, but is getting better knowing that he will be coming home. She’s also very playful! She will sit and play ball whatever chance she gets, she also loves to bring you her toys when she gets excited'

Please consider offering this girl a home - we feel better as an only dog OR possibly with a VERY calm older male.

Scarlet is a nearly 7yr old Staffy x Spaniel we believe.

She arrived from a sad situation just over a week ago. Her previous owner had changed jobs and work load and she had been being left for VERY LONG periods of time alone ... She had been put on strong medication to supposedly help her anxieties but we are going down a more natural route to hopefully assist her.

She is simply delightful and perfectly behaved indoors but as soon as she gets outside into a busier environment she panics and pulls badly on lead.

She has shown herself to be fine with other dogs so far and has had a visiting dog in the home too so we feel that possibly the company of another dog would make life easier for her - a calm and balanced older dog maybe.

She is great with children but due to her anxieties we feel a calmer home better if possible.

Please consider helping her if you think you fulfil the criteria she needs.  THANK YOU X
