This dear lady is needing a foster home ASAP please. We believe she is around 6/7yrs approx. She is currently in a council pound having been dumped and has had no other offers - so we have agreed to help her BUT we need a foster home who understands that a dog arriving from a pound kennels is only partially assessed.
She is sweet natured, does not react to other dogs but does not seem interested in them either (so dog free home ideally), she is not fully child tested as she cannot be so no children under 12 please, she is not cat tested.
ALL fosters offering help to pound dogs MUST understand that these dogs will need a period of settling and 'decompression' before any level of full assessment can be made and must also understand that we currently have NO kennel availability at all and therefore if the dog is not settling well it could take several days to find an alternative foster.
The RULE we try to use is 3 days to start to decompress / 3 weeks to begin to trust and settle / 3 months before you begin to see the real dog. Please do take this into consideration when offering help to a pound dog.
