PURDY
This delightful girl has been in foster for us for several weeks now.
She is a wonderful dog ... child and all people friendly.
She is playful and sweet natured and looking for her forever home.
She is 7.5 yrs young and loves life.
She is now spayed and fully recovered.
She would like a home with a like minded friend to give her confidence...
Her foster mum says....
Purdy Birdy as my three year old calls her is such a delight!
Upon collecting her and bringing her home to foster she was shy, timid and scared of her own shadow.
After having big surgery she was on rest for 7 days before she was socialising with the dogs.
She loves the attention from a like minded playful dog that will play tug and do a bit of rough and tumble and then cuddle up for a sleep.
She looks for comfort and confidence in another dog whilst out walking.
She was very unsure to begin with but now walks with her tail held high rather than in-between her legs.
She loves nothing more than a cuddle after a good play.
She almost makes the pawfect lap dog albeit a bit big.
Due to a physical inability to open her jaw fully eating can be a struggle and makes a bit of a mess.
We’ve been feeding her using a low lipped cat litter tray as she needs space to move it around to get hold of the food to then get it to the back of the throat.
But don’t let this little quirk put you off because she is honestly a dog that wants to please.
She doesn’t need miles and miles of walking.
Just a good walk once a day (currently building up muscle) and play with another dog and she’ll sleep for hours.
She’s been left up to 3.5 hours with no issues, and is completely clean in the house and has not had one accident in over 2 weeks. She’ll stand by the back door until you let her out.
All in all if you want the perfect mix of fun yet calm Purdy is your girl.
She has been amazing with my two young children and absolutely loves nothing more than a bath or play with the water hose.
She’d make a great swimming companion we will be sad to see her leave.
I could write pages about her....She is a spectacular dog!
Even more nice comments from Purdy's fosterer: -
6 glorious weeks we’ve had Purdy stay with us in foster.
And each day she is getting more and more settled.
She enjoys a good walk but doesn't need masses of exercise - longer walks at weekends would suit just fine. She can be quite anxious in busy (human) settings so she would be best with a confident owner as she can 'hump' when anxious.
A non challenging environment would suit best. A calm household and quieter walking areas
Today I let her off lead for the first time after building that bond and using enclosed areas for 6 weeks and she was as good as gold not leaving myside. She loves a pool of water but not so much wet mud. But I think this is because she’s not used it. She is very dog friendly with all breeds and sizes she’s met.
She now after a few weeks of training is able to live with my cat. And she adores my children.
This older girl is looking for a warm sofa. Loving cuddles and gentle walks.
