MAX

Max came in to us in February from a pretty bad start/place - on arrival into foster it was apparent that being dumped and spending time in pound kennels had had a major impact on him ... separation anxiety and neediness at the forefront ...

BUT...after some time with wonderful Arundawn foster- pawrents he is now a different dog!

But - the following still  please needs to be taken into consideration when applying for or adopting these high energy working breed dogs ...

Max is a working Cocker Spaniel and fulfills the type to the letter!

Max is not cat tested and has not lived with small children so children ideally 14 and over please and no cats or small furries.

Max is: -

~Energetic and lively

~Highly intelligent and trainable

~Affectionate and loyal

~Eager to please

~Playful and fun-loving

~Friendly and social

~Sensitive and responsive to his owner’s emotions

~Independent but enjoys companionship

~Very active and requires lots of exercise

~Strong hunting and retrieving instincts

~Can be prone to chasing small animals

~Enjoys problem-solving and mentally stimulating tasks

~May become anxious or destructive if left alone for long periods

~Can be vocal (barking or whining)

~Loves to explore and follow scents

~Good with children and other pets and now well-socialized

~At least 1.5 - 2 hours of exercise per day

~Mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and scent work

~Regular companionship – does not do well with long isolation

~A job or purpose (agility, obedience, retrieving games, etc.)

~High-quality diet to support energy levels

~Regular grooming due to ears and feathered coat

~Regular socialization and consistent training

~Secure outdoor space to roam and play safely

Kim who is fostering him for us also said -

'Max has come on amazingly since being with us.

He has such an amazing temperament, is good with people, loves a cuddle and a fuss.

We had our 9 month grandson for the day and Max was really good. Obviously curious to begin with but soon settled and eventually hardly took any notice of him.

He is generally good with other dogs'.

He is house trained and will sleep through the night.

He has learnt to sit and stay – making it easier to leave the room.

He is very clever and loves his food, so training with food is going well and will need to be continued.

If you think his perfect furever home might be yours please complete the adoption form on this website - thank you!
