BILBO or BO - Now in foster for assessment (30/8/23)
This stunning boy is 2.5 yrs old and joined Arundawn after being relinquished by his owner. He was not living the best life, spending most of his time in a crate that was too small. He had lots of pent up energy and frustration on arrival but my goodness me what a very amazing dog he is becoming!
We have been working on this and socialising him with the dogs here and out and about. He has come along so well. Having spent a huge amount of time shut in a crate with little exercise, stimulation or training, he took a little while to settle but has really started to show his desire to learn and please.
Our wonderful volunteer Tony has been working with him, taking him out, walking locally and spending time learning about his needs. He is still only young but is strong and needs further lead training. He can be a little 'mouthy' if he is allowed to become over-stimulated so calm, clear and concise instruction is so important.
He was an only dog in his previous home but he can be around other dogs - he's just very boisterous and high energy which may put some dogs off. He could be rehomed with another big dog, preferably a calm bitch to show him the ropes.
He loves his toys and really responds well to positive reinforcement, training and clear boundaries - he has loads of potential and is thriving in a structured and organised environment.
He is an affectionate, willing and keen learner who will be spectacular in the right home with the right human/s. He is not for a first time dog owner as he is really strong and needs knowledgable people to bring out his best.
We would recommend that anyone interested in Bilbo visit him at our kennels a few times to get to know him and if there are resident dogs, be able to bring them along to introduce them properly.

ESSENTIALS FOR BILBO
- NO CATS or SMALL FURRIES - not tested
- NO CHILDREN - he's just too strong and boisterous
- Adult only home with large bull breed experience, ideally
- He is a big lad and strong, with more lead training needed.
He is very much a 'man's dog' due to his strength but is lovely and showing affection and responsiveness.
We are really enjoying working with this lad.
