BEN ...

Keeley is fostering Ben for us and says ...

'Ben is the total package – he’s an absolutely gorgeous hunk and has the sweetest personality.

Definitely one of the easiest dogs we’ve ever fostered!

Ben has now been in foster for coming up a month and shown himself to be an absolute darling.

He sleeps downstairs throughout the night without a peep (and he LOVES a lay-in).

He's house-trained, doesn't counter surf, and is non-destructive in the house (fluffy toys however are another story!)

He’s been good meeting people, he warms up quicker to women than men where he is more aloof.

Once he knows you however he’s an absolutely love bug and loves nothing more than resting his head on you for a rub or leaning against you for a body scratch!

He loves his walks and we are working on his walking, he walks lovely over 95% of the time with a no-pull harness, though he might get a bit excited if he spots squirrels and he is a big boy (50kg)!

He’s also a dream in the car and likes going out to new places.

Ben has shown himself so far to be dog-friendly with both small and large dogs and hasn’t reacted back to barking dogs but he would be unable to live with cats or small furries.

His favourite pastimes including sleeping on a comfy bed, zooming around the garden and walks with lots of sniff breaks. He’s happy to spend time with his humans but also enjoys his own space, taking himself off to his bed throughout the day (and at bedtime!).

If you’re looking for an affectionate hunk, then Ben could be your perfect match!'

If you think you could be the right fit for this gorgeous boy, please fill out our form on this website...

Ideally he needs a large garden to free run in OR a home prepared to use a secure paddock for off lead whilst training recall when distracted

More lovely comments from Ben's fosterer: -

Ben is super chilled in the house, he sleeps downstairs overnight without a peep (and loves a lay-in in the morning).

He’s non-destructive and clean in the house.

He’s happy to be left for a couple of hours and his manners are fantastic, he doesn’t jump up, is very respectful with food and is happy to do his own thing.

He loves the garden and having a bounce around, any game where he can use his nose is his favourite! He also loves his paddling pool (yes - even in this weather!)

Our work in progress areas are to do with being out and about, his walking does need work.

He’s a big lad and can be strong at times, especially if there’s a squirrel he wants to chase, but he’s been coming on leaps and bounds.

He’s fantastic with other dogs big and small and has ignored reactive dogs out and about.

His recall also needs work so if he’s going to be let off in a new home then his new family will need to work on this.

The type of home he is looking for:

•We believe he would be happy as an only dog or to share his home with another dog ideally similar size or a bit smaller purely because whilst he’s been nothing but polite out and about he is a big boy.

•No cats or small furries.

•No children under the age of 12.

•A home that is dedicated to continuing his training. He’s a very intelligent lad and loves to know learn and practice new tricks. A home willing to do scent work or similar would be a bonus!

•He would love a nice garden.

•And somewhere where he won’t be left for long hours by himself.

Ben truly is a fantastic dog and deserves to find his forever home
